The Golf Resorts in Costa Rica

Although there are many golf course options in Costa Rica, there are only three true golf resorts.

Marriott Los Suenos

The Marriott Los Suenos Golf Resort is located one hour from San Jose airport, 45 minutes from Manuel Antonio and 10 minutes from Jaco in Costa Rica's pacific coast. The hotel located inside the resort is the Marriott Los Suenos - one of Marriott prime locations and ranked in the top 10 resort in Latin America. Other hotels convenient to this resort are any Jaco area hotel including the Villa Caletas, Best Western Jaco and Punta Leona.

The resort is also home to the Los Suenos Marina - one of the world's prime fishing spots for billfishing, marlin and others.

I recommend this resort for a guys weekend in Costa Rica due the convenience of having great golf and fishing within the same resort. Westin Reserva Conchal

The Westin Reserva Conchal resort is home to Costa Rica's prime all inclusive option, the Westin Playa Conchal. This resort is at a higher level of service and luxury than the other resorts in Costa Rica but the price to stay there is also higher. Recently named as one of the top 25 resorts in the world by Conde Nast, it's golf course was one of of four to receive a perfect score.

The resort is about one hour from Liberia International airport and is home to the Westin Playa Conchal and Reserva Conchal condos. The all inclusive option is available for hotel guests - golfers will love the half inclusive option that the condos provide.

The course itself is a Robert Trent Jones II masterpiece with a great balance of ocean views and plentiful fauna. (Watch out for the monkeys!) Hacienda Pinilla

The Hacienda Pinilla resort is located about one hour from Liberia International airport in Guanacaste. This is Guanacaste's only public golf option and is home to the JW Marriott Guanacaste and La Posada hotel.

The JW Marriott is ranked alongside the Marriott Los Suenos as one of Latin America's best hotels. This tranquil setting is best suited for travelers looking for ultimate luxury and a beautiful beach setting. La Posada hotel is Pinilla's more affordable option without losing too much in terms of luxury.

Even though it is only 15 minutes from Tamarindo, Hacienda Pinilla's great golf, multiple beautiful beaches and other adventure activities inside the resort make you not want to leave the resort at all.
