Top 10 Places and Activities To Do in Costa Rica while on your Golf Vacation

As part of your Costa Rica golf vacation, you could do other things than play the great game of golf. These are some of many suggestions for other Costa Rica activities:

Whitewater rafting
Not for the faint hearted, Costa Rica offers level 3 and 4 whitewater rafting near to Marriott Los Suenos and near the San Jose golf courses like Valle del Sol and Cariari in Costa Rica’s central valley. I recommend that you contact our preferred rafting company, Rios Tropicales.

Casino nights
If you didn’t know already, Costa Rica has great casinos with lots of night time fun. For the budget traveler, go to the Casino del Rey in downtown San Jose. If you are planning a more upscale vacation, then the Clarion in downtown San Jose or the Ramada hotel close to the Cariari golf course. For the Jaco crowd and Tamarindo casino crowd, most casinos are just about the same. The difference is the all you can eat meat market that San Jose casinos offer. A cool thing is that we offer discounted golf at 11am, just in time for you to recover from a night out at the casino.

Volcan Arenal
I know. I know! Arenal volcano has no golf close to it and it is a good 3 1/2 hour drive from San Jose but it is well worth it. If you are planning a seven day or more Costa Rica golf vacation, a night at Arenal volcano is a nice breather from the hectic San Jose, Jaco and Tamarindo nights. Activities at Arenal include canopy tours, horseback riding and the aerial tram. We can arrange your entire Arenal experience to recommended hotels and the worthwhile tours.
If you can afford it, stay that night at Nayara resort – it is by far my favorite hotel in Costa Rica. It has a 100+ wine bar, cigar bar and you take your showers while looking at the stars. Manuel Antonio National Park
Go for a nature walk and enjoy the beach at Manuel Antonio National Park, just 1 hour from Marriott Los Suenos golf course, you can enjoy the paradisiacal beach at Manuel Antonio. This national park is also home to lots of delicious smaller restaurants like the airplane restaurant.

Hang out at the pool
Finally a good idea!!! What’s with all the travelling around when you can stay at your resort and have lots of pina coladas and beers at the pool bar. The absolute best place for this is the Hacienda Pinilla beach club in the Hacienda Pinilla resort. This place is sweet and not as crowded as other resorts.
The view from the second floor restaurant is gorgeous and the sunsets there are worth a moment of silence. You can easily play a round at Hacienda Pinilla golf course, and then go to the Pinilla beach club to have lunch and take a dip in the pool or go walk Avellanas beach.
